Seasons of the Heart is in the home town of owner Sharon Holverson and her husband. Back in 2002, Sharon decided she would like to open another business and yet there were no vacant buildings on the small main street. Her husband Blair had gone onto contract work in the city so the 90 year old blacksmith shop was not being utilized at the time. It would be hard to imagine that this dingy building, black from years of welding smoke, no restroom, heat, or running water could ever be a gift shop?! But with alot of imagination and ingenuity, the Holverson's set to the job of throwing metal scraps, sweeping out the years of black dust, modernizing the building with the now necessary facilities, and alot of elbow grease! From dingy black, to polished white the task of adding interest and color to the building was now a challenge, but one that Sharon loves! Building walls and displays, painting and decorating is one of Sharon's favorite hobbies and it shows each season in the shop as colors, merchandise, and displays change and take on new life throughout the small 900 square foot shop. The old 'blacksmith shop' had now become the new and unique gift shop of Monona County.

Sharon has worked some type of retail for at least 30 years and also having owned two other small business's herself in the past. She believes in giving back to the community and enjoys doing business in her home town. An interesting place to visit and shop, while being in a relaxing and interesting location. Put this together with great customer service, unique gifts, and beautiful seasonal decor, this all makes for a great gift shop! Seasons of the Heart is beyond the ordinary with surprises and touches of fun where ever you look throughout the shop.
